The amazing power quality teaching toy

The PQ teaching toy is a hobby of Alex McEachern spun out of control. This freely downloadable tool allows users to visualise fundamental and reactive power flows or wave forms in the presence of harmonics.

It further enables users to see the effect of source impedance on distortion, or explore the voltage dip immunity of power electronics.

But the best part of the teaching toy is its simplicity - download, install and learning to use is a matter of minutes.

Very nice!

As an Electrician by trade who has "gone to bat" to improve Power Factor and THD (total harmonic distortion) within a factory, tools (I think the word "toy" is a bit soft) such as this are very usefull.

Thank you for pointing it out - I have a copy on my laptop and I know it will come in very handy.
