IEC gets picked by US DoE for Smart Grid
It's good to see that IEC is playing a role in helping to map out the smart grid of the future. The US Department of Energy just posted this about the standards being selected to help get the US system built http://www.energy.gov/news2009/7408.htm. IEC's experts have also started work on the framework of specifications needed and which are already available among the different technical sectors. EDF's Richard Schomberg is a key player in pushing this forward and the group will deleiver a web portal for smart grid design shortly (see http://www.iec.ch/news_centre/release...>
